From Jay-Z to Foo Fighters in 365 Days

I’ve neglected this blog for a few months, for various reasons, I guess, but I decided that a great way to get back into it would be an “anniversary” post of sorts. December 1 was exactly a year that I’d been living in Australia and Dec 3 was the first concert that I saw here (whilst living here). Having come from a country that doesn’t get very many international artists, I was like a kid in a candystore spoiled for choice with options. The past year has been surreal and I’ve seen (and in most cases, photographed) some artists that I never thought I’d ever get the opportunity to. There were a lot of highlights over the year. The year (for me) started on Dec 3rd 2010 with Jay-Z opening for U2, continued with Biffy Clyro, and then went to hyperdrive. It ended on Dec 3rd 2011 with Foo Fighters, for the second time. And man what a year it was. My first year in Australia was a real adventure, and the music made everything worthwhile for me. Many have asked which artists I’ve seen over the past year, so without further ado, here is a list of international and insanely talented local artists I’ve seen (to the best of my memory). List is in alphabetical order and yes, I am a self-confessed live music addict. Approximately (actually more, cause I know I’ve forgotten some local guys) 103 artists performed in front of me in 365 days. That’s A LOT of music and I feel so privileged to have had these opportunities. Thanks Australian music industry!
